BYS Matte Foundation

My mood swings goes very well with makeup. Sometimes, I go crazy buying a handful of blushes or lipsticks and there was also a time that I went ga-ga over eyeshadows. However, my "seasonal" mood have led me to purchase foundations.

Product: BYS Matte Foundation in Medium Beige
Price: Around Php659.00
Available on Local SM Department Stores (bought mine at SM Southmall)

There are only a couple of makeup brands selling a good matte foundation. Usually, matte products are a hit or miss for me. Being oily-skinned makes makeup last a little less for me. Luckily, my COMPULSIVE behavior had led me to a good product by BYS.

From my previous post, you've learned that BYS is an Australian-based company. At first, I was a bit reluctant to purchase a foundation from the line since most Australians are fair skinned, and the season there is different from our year-round tropical heat, but it will probably bug my conscience not to give this little baby a fair chance to prove its worth.

BYS have 3 shades of Matte foundation available on their counters: Sand Beige, Natural Beige and Medium Beige. I got the Medium Beige which I guess is a bit dark for my skin now. When I purchased it last month, it was really my shade but since my skin is getting brighter (thanks to proper hydration) it became a lil' bit darker for me but still tolerable.

Packaging: The foundation I purchased is housed on a glass bottle, with a pump top (which I really love) for hygienic purpose and easy no-mess product dispense. Each pump provides makeup that is just enough for a FRESH look. Since I've been using it for a month now, It already had a fair share of falls and I can tell, the bottle is VERY STURDY!

Product: The foundation is not as matte as I expected. It has a semi-matte and sheer finish which I guess was just right. Afterall, I don't want that dry/powdery finish whenever I apply makeup. Coverage was just right. It has a creamy and mousse-y consistency which makes application easier. It glides easily on my skin with or without using my moisturizer. It covers minor skin imperfections and I think if you want to cover-up some blemishes, you have to use more of the product. Although the product seems to control oiliness for an hour or 2, its already a long time considering the amount you've paid for the product. It doesn't cake after hours and I find that my skin looks healthy throughout the day. I liked how it made me look glowing and fresh even the makeup was applied a couple of hours back. However, there's only one thing i didn't like about the product. There is a plastic-like scent which is quite discouraging at first but good thing, the scent goes off when the product dries up on your face. Overall, the product is a hit! I would definitely repurchase this once it hits the bottom. For a foundation costing me a less than Php1000, this is definitely a GOOD BUY. Its not a HG foundation but, is definitely okay for everyday.

So, if you opt to have a natural effortless look, I strongly suggest you purchase your own bottle, and you see for yourself.
